I am very excited to start this blog. I am beginning this new phase of my learning into the world of assistive technology. I am currently a student seeking certification in special education. Although this blog is required for my course, I feel like I am about to embark on a necessary journey. I have been an elementary school teacher for many years. However, I am taking my career to the next level and branching out into the field of special education.
I am especially interested in Early Intervention. I am an early childhood teacher at heart and I never lost my desire to work with very young children, even as a public school teacher. I hope to gain knowledge that will not only help me in my career, but I also want to inspire and hopefully educate others as well. I would love for others to take this journey with me and perhaps we can all gain from this experience.
Early intervention is such a wonderful area to be involved with. My son spent almost 6 years receiving services through EI and the educators and service providers played a huge role in his development.

I am glad you had such a positive experience with EI. Many parents often only have negative things to say about the services their children received. I really think it's awesome that you are such an involved parent.
